The postal service board of governors has voted to increase postage rates. New postal rates are set to go in effect on May 14, 2007. For full information, read the official announcement. Also, you might care to review USPS Notice 123 for further rate information.
Postal service mail holidays for 2007
1/1/2007
The United States Postal Service will be closed in 2007 for the following holidays with mail services resuming the following business day.
- January 1 - New Year's Day
- January 15 - Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday
- February 19 - Washington's Birthday (President's Day)
- May 28 - Memorial Day
- July 4 - Independence Day
- September 3 - Labor Day
- October 8 - Columbus Day
- November 12 - Veterans Day
- November 22 - Thanksgiving Day
- December 25 - Christmas Day
Postal rate change - update
1/6/2006
The new automation rates have finally been made available to us by the postal service. Effective as of 1/8/2006, the price for a one ounce letter will increase by 1.6 cents, and a two ounce letter by 2.8 cents. Other weight classes have similar increases. For full information on first class rates, you can review USPS Notice 123. However, as of 1/6, it has not yet been updated with the new rates. Jobs mailed on or after 1/8/2006 will be subject to the new rates.

For full information, read the official announcement. We do expect to see some effect from the new rates, and will post more information here as it becomes available.
